Emergency Warning Sirens
Spring is here and with that comes the chance for severe thunderstorms and tornados. It is very important for everyone to pay attention to the sound of an emergency warning siren and take appropriate action when the siren sounds. Be aware of the National Weather Service system of public warnings, the purpose of the Outdoor Warning Siren network, and use of weather alert radios to keep you and your family safe. More information is available on the website at Fire\Tornado Sirens
The City of Bloomington is requesting that citizens who live near an outdoor emergency warning siren pay special attention to the tests held the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00am. Please report any non-functioning outdoor emergency sirens to the Bloomington Dispatch Center via the non-emergency phone number (820-8888). This will assist the City of Bloomington in ensuring that all of the emergency warning sirens in Bloomington will sound the alert when needed.
